The theme of this year's Gardening Show, being held for the sixth time, is “Gentleness in Marunouchi.”
The organizers hope that the abundant flowers and greenery will give not only visitors but also people working in the district a chance to pause and reconnect with the gentleness of plants and wake up to the powers of nature—wind, light, greenery. Another aim of the show is to communicate a message from Marunouchi of a new culture and lifestyle in harmony with nature.
This year, 20 selected contestant gardens will line the Marunouchi Nakadori Ave., vying for affirmation of their designers' talents.
A theme garden will be installed at the Marunouchi Building. Designed with loving care by Hiroshi Tamazaki, a gardener well-known through his appearances on NHK Television's Shumi-no-engei (Gardening as a hobby) gardening program, this garden will have a calming, soothing effect on visitors.
And Misato Nagano, weathercaster on the Fuji Television Network's morning information program Mezamashi-terebi (Wakeup TV), has been invited to create her first garden, which will be on display at the new Marunouchi BRICK SQUARE.
The Marunouchi Nakadori Ave. Gardening Show and the Hibiya Gardening Show taking place concurrently in nearby Hibiya Park from October 24 to November 1, are the showcase attractions of the Tokyo Garden Jewelry 2009 event.
Building on the distinct ambience of these two venues—Marunouchi Nakadori Ave. and surrounding “urban” area and Hibiya Park's “park” area—Tokyo Garden Jewelry 2009 will brighten the area with the jewel-like colors of its flowers and greenery.

6번째를 맞는 올해의 테마는 ‘다정함을 아는 거리, 마루노우치’입니다.
숲과 꽃을 접할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 내방객 여러분은 물론, 평소 바쁘게 일에만 매진하는 사람들도 식물이 가져다 주는 다정함과 바람, 빛, 숲과 같은 자연이 가진 힘을 새삼 깨닫기 바라는 희망을 담았습니다. 그리고 자연과 조화를 이룬 새로운 문화와 라이프스타일을 이곳, 마루노우치에서 처음 제안하고자 합니다.
올해는 선발된 콘테스트 가든 20작품이 마루노우치 나카도리 거리에 전시되어 가드닝 솜씨를 겨루게 됩니다.
마루빌딩에는 테마 가든을 설치하여 NHK의 텔레비전 프로그램 ‘취미의 원예’ 등으로 알려진 원예가 다마자키 히로시 씨가 정성 들여 만든 아름다운 정원이 여러분을 따뜻하게 맞이합니다.
또한, 후지 텔레비전의 아침 정보 프로그램 ‘메자마시 테레비’의 기상 캐스터로 사랑받고 있는 나가노 미사토 씨가 정원 꾸미기에 첫 도전. 새로 선보인 마루노우치 파크빌딩에 꽃으로 가득한 정원을 만듭니다.
마루노우치 나카도리 거리 가드닝 쇼는 히비야공원에서 동시에 개최되는 '히비야 가드닝 쇼’(기간: 10월 24일~11월 1일)와 함께 ‘도쿄 가든 주얼리 2009’라는 이름으로 성대하게 개최됩니다.
마루노우치 나카도리 거리와 그 주변의 ‘얼반(urban)’ 지역, 그리고 히비야공원의 ‘파크(park)’ 지역의 2개 장소의 공간적 특성을 잘 살려, 그야말로 보석과 같이 숲과 꽃으로 거리를 수놓는 이벤트입니다.

今年是第六届，主题是“发觉温馨的街区——丸内”。
我们希望提供接触一个花草树木的机会，不但让来场的人们，而且也让平时忙于工作的人们重新发觉植物所带来的温馨以及风能、光能、绿色等自然威力。并且还力求倡导一种新的文化和生活方式，它源自丸内且与自然相调和。
今年选拔出的20件参赛园艺作品将摆放在丸内仲街，比试园艺本领。
在丸大厦设置了主题花园。因NHK的电视节目“趣味园艺”等而闻名的园艺家玉崎弘志先生精心营造的美丽庭院将以恬谧温馨的氛围迎候大家。
此外，著名的富士电视台早间信息节目“报晓电视”的气象节目主持人长野美乡女士还将初次挑战园艺创作。我们将在焕然一新的丸内公园大厦里营造繁华似锦的庭院。
丸内仲街花园节将和在日比谷公园同时举办的“日比谷花园节”(会期：10月24日〜11月1日)一起，作为“2009东京花园展”隆重举办。
本次活动将发挥丸内仲街及其周围的“URBAN”展区和日比谷公园的“PARK”展区这两个会场的空间特性，用花草树木将街区装点得犹如一颗晶莹璀璨的宝石。

Guided tours of the model gardens and the contest gardens, along with descriptions of nearby buildings, are scheduled to be offered at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on October 24 and 25 and 31. Visitors wishing to join a tour should assemble at Theme Garden shown on the map.
