The Marunouchi Nakadori Ave. Gardening Show staged on Marunouchi Nakadori Ave., the Marunouchi business district’s main street, is one of Japan’s leading urban garden shows. It proposes an environmentally-conscious lifestyle and highlights the blessings that flowers and greenery bring to the urban landscape.
This year’s Gardening Show, being held for the seventh time, is on the theme of “Culture Meets Communication Garden—a Streetscape for Conversation.” We hope that the gardens along the main street will act as a catalyst to stimulate gatherings and conversation, encourage everyone to appreciate greenery in their surroundings, and foster communication among the people who work in or visit Marunouchi, Japan’s premier business district.
The theme garden this year, located in front of the Marunouchi Building, has been created by Kazuyuki Ishihara. Ishihara, a renowned garden designer, is the first person in the world to have won awards in different categories for three consecutive years from 2006 at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the world’s oldest and most authoritative garden show. The show is under the patronage of Queen Elizabeth II.
This year, 15 garden entries chosen by a selection committee will line the Marunouchi Nakadori main street. Final judging will take place on the first day of the show, to choose the winner of the Garden Jewelry Grand Prix (a Gold Prize cash award of one million yen) and other winners.
And new from this year, a “Newcomer’s Prize” will be awarded, to help nurture and support new talent. To add to the ambience during the show, the one-kilometer-long main street will be decorated with hanging baskets bringing a rich, vibrant atmosphere of flowers and greenery to Marunouchi. Several events open to visitors, such as a workshop offering hands-on gardening experience and a Marunouchi garden tour, will be held. We will be holding various culture- and environment-related events in the Marunouchi area to give the district renewed vitality.

‘마루노우치 나카도리 거리 가드닝 쇼’는 도쿄 도심 마루노우치의 중심 거리인 ‘마루노우치 나카도리’ 거리를 무대로 ‘도시에서의 꽃과 수목의 은혜’와 ‘환경을 의식한 라이프 스타일’을 제안하는 일본에서 손꼽히는 어번 가드닝 쇼입니다.
7번째가 되는 올해의 테마는 ‘문화×커뮤니케이션 가든 ~대화를 즐기는 거리~’.
사람들이 모여서 이야기에 꽃을 피우고 수목과 사람들이 대화를 나누는 등, ‘가든’이 매개가 되어 일본의 중심지인 마루노우치에 사람들의 커뮤니케이션이 창출되기를 바라며 이 테마로 정하였습니다.
올해에는 이시하라 가즈유키 씨에 의한 테마 가든이 마루빌딩 앞에 등장합니다. 가즈유키 씨는 엘리자베스 여왕이 대회 총재를 맡고 있는 세계에서 가장 오래되고 권위가 있는 가드닝 쇼 ‘영국 첼시 플라워 쇼’에서 사상 처음 2006년부터 3년 연속으로 다른 부문에서 금메달을 수상한 세계적인 정원 디자이너입니다.
또, 마루노우치 나카도리 거리 길가에는 심사에서 선정된 15개의 가드닝 작품이 전시됩니다. 개최 첫날에 최종 심사가 실시되어, 가든 주얼리 대상(금상/상금 100만 엔) 외에 각종 상이 수여됩니다.
그리고, 금년도부터 ‘신인상’을 마련하여 새로운 재능을 육성하고 지원해 나갈 것입니다. 또 약 1km에 걸쳐 가로등에 행깅 바스켓이 장식되고, 마루노우치에 화려하고 아름다운 꽃과 수목의 공간이 펼쳐집니다. 한편, 가드닝을 체험할 수 있는 워크숍과 마루노우치 가든 투어 등 모두 함께 참가하실 수 있는 이벤트도 개최합니다. 마루노우치 지역에서는 다양한 문화 및 환경 등에 관련한 활동을 전개하여 거리를 더욱 활성화시켜 나갈 것입니다.

“丸内仲街花园节”是日本屈指可数的城市花园节，以东京都心丸内的主街“丸内仲街”为舞台，颂扬“城市里的繁花绿树所带来的恩惠”，倡导“环境友好型生活方式”。
今年是第7届，主题为“文化×交流花园 〜打造享受交谈乐趣之街头〜”。 我们出于以“花园”为媒介打造人群汇聚、融融交谈、人与绿色对话等使人们在丸内这个日本中心地段进行交流的愿望，提出了这个主题。
今年在丸大厦前设置石原和幸先生的主题花园。石原和幸先生在由伊丽莎白女王担任大赛总裁的世界最古老、最具权威的园艺展“英国切尔西花展”中，自2006年起创纪录地连续3年在不同部门获得金奖，堪称世界级庭园设计师。
同时，将沿着丸内仲街展示经审查挑选的15个园艺作品。在举办日的第一天，对这些园艺作品进行最终审查，除Garden Jewelry大奖（金奖/奖金100万日元）外，还授予其他各种奖项。
此外，从本年度起设立“新人奖”，培育新才能，支援新人士。并为约1公里的街灯装点吊篮，让丸内形成一个色彩缤纷的繁花绿树空间。另一方面，还举办一些大家皆可参加的活动，例如可体验园艺的体验式工房及丸内园游会等。丸内地区积极开展各种文化和环境等的相关活动，进一步搞活市街。
